Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) is better known under her stage name Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be signed to J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. The label debuted her first EP titled Pho in October 2016 where she started getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox first released songs online in the year 2012. The singer released her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013 the mixtape Five Finger Discount. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her single Bound along with her self-released mixtape Five Finger Discount. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes and in Sweat It Out July 21st in 2015. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's remark. In the following season, the music was played around Dreamville. On December 28, 2008 it was revealed that Rihanna was hired with Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track she recorded alongside Cozz for her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. In October 2016 the singer-songwriter released her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change and also performed as part of her own 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as opening artist. In 2018, she performed as a guest on two tracks, including the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. The debut single, called Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream dropped on the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a the music video. On November 9, she released two additional singles: the 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. In November 13, she dropped two singles titled The No One and Pedigree. She appeared with Cole on the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16, and then released the song as a single by herself to her debut album. The song, launched with a music video on YouTube on February 20, 2019, was watched more than three million times over the first 7 days. As a support act, she toured with 6LACK in December of 2018 for the From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
